Biography Charles Wallace Jacob Johnson was a miner, photographer, musician, and dance instructor, born in Maryland August 3, 1833, the son of George M. and Matilda Johnson. He came to California and was on the North Fork of the Feather River in 1857 and in Grass Valley in 1863. Photographer. Came to California for gold; was on North Fork, Feather River in 1857; in Grass Valley 1863; Nevada, 1868. Worked as a one man band, taught dance.
